I had been dreaming up this session in my mind for weeks. Wrightsville Beach has always held a special place in my heart, and for as long as I could imagine, I’ve pictured what it would feel like to shoot there at sunrise, chasing light across the sand, feeling the ocean breeze, and capturing moments that feel completely alive. When Cassie & Skyler said they’d spend the morning with me on the beach, I was over the moon. They arrived early, full of excitement, ready for whatever the morning held.

We started right at the water’s edge as the sun slowly peeked over the horizon, the air crisp for May and the waves rolling gently in. Surfers glided past in the distance, adding a surreal energy to the morning, while we ran along the shore, played with their surfboard, gave piggyback rides, and even laid down in the sand to just soak it all in. From the very first moment, the session unfolded like a dream, full of laughter, movement, and connection. Every wave, every playful moment, every little interaction felt effortless, spontaneous, and completely alive.

We ended the morning by playing on the street with my longboard, the perfect way to finish a magical session. The light, the waves, the way Cassie & Skyler moved together, it was exactly what I had imagined, and capturing it on camera made every second feel special. This was one of those mornings that I will never forget, one of those sessions that I will be obsessed with forever.

When Hailee & Anthony said they wanted to create this morning adventure with me, I was over the moon. They drove three hours to Nags Head to meet me at 6 a.m., arriving full of excitement and ready for whatever the morning held. We shot for a total of three hours, going wherever the wind blew us, with no expectations or limits. From the moment we arrived, the session unfolded like a dream, laughing, running, and exploring every corner of the lighthouse grounds. I had been imagining this session for years, and to finally take what was in my mind and see it come to life on the screen was truly amazing.
